Grayscale Printing
Frequently Asked Question
“I want to design in only black text and some grayscale graphics, should I submit my artwork in CMYK, or should I convert it to grayscale?”
Answer
The front is always printed in CMYK,
you can design in 4/4 or 4/1, 4 = CMYK, 1 = K,
you can also use only K in CMYK mode, or you can combine CMYK to achieve rich black color.
Rich Black Printing
Rich Black is the solution to black print that looks a little gray or dull. Black that is specified as K 100, C 0, M 0, Y 0 may result in a final color that might not be as dark as expected.
Rich Black is 100% black mixed with additional CMY ink values.
We recommend using C 60, M 40, Y 40, K 100 to give your print jobs a neutral, deep, and rich black.
